The Redrooms
Description
The Redrooms is one of the rarest but less significant variants of The Lobby, consisting of the exact same architecture of the Lobby but exhibiting a more confined and oppresive arrangement.
The walls retain the same wallpaper and wooden panneling found throughout the Lobby burned out, adopting a more orange-red hue. The dry wallpaper is sometimes seen ripped out of the walls, specially in corners. The carpet is completely dry, brittle and crunchy underneath the feet, with little to no trace of the Seep remaining.
The suspended tile ceiling remains the same, but the height of the ceiling is lower than in the Lobby, sometimes even uncomfortably compressed. The fluorescent troffers emit a deep red light that overpowers the burnt yellow wallpaper, creating much more defined shadows and a more oppressive atmosphere. The hum of the lights is still present and humming at the same decibel level, yet the sound feels more intense.
The layout of the Redrooms is much more tighter than the Lobby, with open spaces becoming more scarce. Gaps between walls are nuch more narrow and the corridors seem to terminate in cramped rooms before continuing through another doorway only a few meters away.
This landscape is cause of many hallucinations, paranoia, claustrophobia and nightmares, caused due to the intense red light and the more confined layout. It is common for explorers to avoid staying in the Redrooms for long periods of time, as the required mental fortitude to endure the enviroment is much higher than many other landscapes.
